MEMS Students Attend State Showcase

Students share about what they've been learning this year with Sen. Nickie Antonio.

West Shore applied to participate in the showcase and was chosen to represent the region. MEMS students hosted an interactive demonstration highlighting soldering skills and explained how the MEMS program prepares students with hands-on, in-demand technical experience. The event allows legislators, business leaders, and educators to better understand the impact of career-technical education funding and legislative decisions.

The MEMS program, developed through a state Career-Technical Expansion Grant, generated strong interest from legislators who were excited to see the program’s progress. Students demonstrated their skills for Sen. Nickie Antonio and received commendations from both Sen. Antonio and Rep. Bride Rose Sweeney.

Students representing West Shore were:  Ben Bernard, Nico Elliott,  Liam Jantz, Robby Koopman, Rowan MacKay, and Domenico Sgambellone.   

Students were recognized for their enthusiasm, professionalism, and technical skills, as well as their excitement for future career, workforce, and college opportunities. West Shore is proud of how these students represented West Shore and Lakewood at this statewide event!
