MEMS Awarded $20,000 LCCC Grant

Our MEMS program has been awarded a $20,000 grant through Lorain County Community College as part of a regional workforce initiative. This funding is supported through a combination of Department of Energy-backed programming and the Northeast Ohio Semiconductor Workforce Consortium. The grant will support: 

  • Expansion of hands-on, work-based learning opportunities
  • Development of scalable training models aligned with industry needs
  • Increased access to real-world experiences and career pathways for students

Trio Qualify for National Culinary Contest

Congratulatons to our Culinary Arts students who have qualified for the FCCLA national competition thanks to their top placements in the state competition held April 16-17. Htoo Wah, Carys Crone, and Finn Getts are on their way! Finn Getts placed first in Baking & Pastry at state, and Htoo Wah and Carys Crone placed second and third, respectively in the Culinary Arts category. We wish all of them the best of luck at nationals in July in Washington, D.C.

WEST SHORE CAREER-TECHNICAL DISTRICT

On March 16, The Rotary Club of Lakewood and Rocky River hosted its 28th annual West Shore Career-Technical District Outstanding Student Awards at their weekly luncheon, and honored 14 West Shore students. At this event, Rotary members, educators, and families come together to celebrate student achievements and highlight the value of career-technical education in preparing students for future careers and continued learning.
